La terza città della Spagna per numero di abitanti dopo Madrid e Barcellona.

Valencia, la città ideale in cui trasferirsi. La temperatura è sempre mite anche nei mesi invernali, dove le temperature toccano quasi sempre i 20 gradi, e non scendono mai sotto i 10.

Una città giovane, con un frequente turismo, e un’ ottima cucina mediterranea. Una città che unisce tante componenti : moderno, antico, mare, divertimento.

Valencia è una città che si può girare benissimo a piedi o in bicicletta.

Ma è comunque fornita di un’ottima rete di autobus. Una metro ben collegata in 4 zone della città. Nella zona A e B rientra il centro storico. La metro è aperta fino alle 22.00/22.30, dopo subentrano i bus notturni.

LE PRINCIPALI ATTRAZIONI DELLA CITTA’

• CATTEDRALE DI VALENCIA. La cattedrale di valencia dedicata a Santa Maria, pare conservi al suo interno il Santo Gral. Riposto in una saletta della chiesa in un apposita urna visibile ai turisti. La cattedrale si affaccia e collega due piazze importanti, Plaza de la Virgen, e Plaza de la Reina dove sorge alta la Torre Miguelete dalla quale si può godere di una vista panoramica sulla città.

• PLAZA DEL AYUTAMENTO. E’ la piazza più importante e la più al centro della città. Da qui partono le vie dello shopping, in particolare Calle Colon, con il suo Mercato de Colon. La piazza ha una forma triangolare ed unisce al nord la zona del mercato centrale, e a sud la stazione centrale e la Plaza de Toros.

• BARRIO DEL CARMEN. E’ il quartiere storico del centro città. Conosciuto per la sua vivace vita notturna. Il luogo preferito dai giovani. Pieno di bar, tapas, ristoranti e locali. Vivo sia di giorno che di sera. E’ bellissimo perdersi tra le sue vie….

• TORRE DE SERRANOS. La porta dell’antica muraglia medievale cristiana di Valencia. Dichiarato monumento storico e artistico nazionale nel 1931

• EL CABANYAL

L’ANTICO QUARTIERE DI PESCATORI DI VALENCIA, oggi sta vivendo una rinascita culturale, che lo ha trasformato in un quartiere con esposizioni d’arte e spettacoli teatrali per tutto l’anno. Le facciate dai colori pastello e i mosaici lo rendono un luogo assolutamente da visitare per godere della splendida architettura.

• LA LONJA DE LA SEDA. Dichiarato nel 1996 Patrimonio dell’Umanità dall’Unesco. E’ stato il centro delle attività commerciali agli inizi del XVI secolo. La sala del Mercato è uno spettacolo architettonico! L’ingresso con guida è di 4 euro.
• 

• MERCADO CENTRAL. Situato difronte a la Lonja de la Seda. Qui si trovano tutti i tipi di cibo. Un ottima sosta per mangiare o per uno spuntino.

• I GIARDINI DEL TURIA. 9 km di verde che attraversano il cuore della città. Dal parco de Cabecera alla Città delle arti e delle scienze. Costruito sul letto del fiume Turia. All’interno si trova il Parco Gulliver, dove una rappresentazione gigante di Gulliver è un attrazione di divertimento per i bambini. Formato da scivoli e rampe.

• CITTA’ DELLE ARTI E DELLE SCIENZE. All’interno troverete:

1. l’HEMISFERIC: un cinema digitale in 3d.
2. Il MUSEO DELLE SCIENZE, esposizioni di scienza e tecnologia.
3. TEATRO DELL’OPERA, al suo interno, opere, concerti e spettacoli.
4. l’UMBRACLE,enorme giardino di 17.000 mq formato da piante mediterranee e sculture contemporanee.
5. l’AGORA,edificio che ospita eventi di vario tipo.

• BIO PARC. Aperto dal 2008. 100.000 mq, situato nel parco de la Cabecera, lungo il fiume Turia. Un parco meraviglioso dove troverete un pezzo di Africa.

• IL PORTO. Chiamato Juan Carlos 1 Marina. Si trova accanto alle spiaggie. Un posto interessante dove passeggiare tra locali, ristoranti,  ammirando l’enorme varietà di barche ormeggiate.

• LE SPIAGGIE. Les Arenas, attaccata al porto, è la spiaggia principale della città. Numerosi i ristoranti che si affacciano su questa immensa spiaggia! In metro basterà scendere alla fermata “Les Arenas”. Da qui proseguendo dritto troverete l’altra spiaggia principale di Valencia: Malvarossa. Mentre allontanandosi qualche kilomentro dalla città troverete: El Saler, Pinedo Pueblo, l’Arbre del Gros, la Garrofera, La Devesa.

Consigliato il museo della Ceramica, già solo la facciata dall’esterno della strada vi lascerà senza parole.

A Valencia si mangia…..

La Paella Valenciana. Le Jambon (prosciutto crudo), le Calamaros (calamari), e le Tortillas (frittate) . Tra i dolci tipici troviamo: i Bunelos (frittelle) che si mangiano molto durante la festa delle Fallas. L’Horchata, una bibita fresca che si accompagna ai Fartones (biscotti allungati). L’Helado de Turron (gelato al torrone)

 WHAT TO SEE IN A WEEKEND IN VALENCIA

The third largest city in Spain by population after Madrid and Barcelona.

Valencia, the ideal city in which to move to live. The temperature is always mild even in the winter months, where temperatures almost always touch 20 degrees, and never fall below 10.

A young city, with frequent tourism, excellent Mediterranean cuisine. The air you breathe is joyous.

Valencia is a city that can be enjoyed very well on foot or by bike.

But it is still equipped with an excellent bus network. A well-connected metro in 4 areas of the city. In the A and B zone the historical center is included. The metro is open until 22.00 / 22.30, after the night buses take over.

If you are doing a little thought then, for your next trip, I show you what to see in a weekend in Valencia:

VALENCIA CATHEDRAL. The cathedral of valencia dedicated to Santa Maria, seems to keep inside the Saint Gral. Stored in a room of the church in a special urn visible to tourists. The cathedral overlooks and connects two major squares, Plaza de la Virgen, and Plaza de la Reina where stands tall the Miguelete Tower from which you can enjoy a panoramic view of the city.

PLAZA OF AYUTAMIENTO. It is the most important square and the most in the center of the city. From here the shopping streets start, especially Calle Colon, with its Mercato de Colon. The square has a triangular shape and joins the central market area to the north, and to the south the central station and the Plaza de Toros.

BARRIO DEL CARMEN. It is the historic district of the city center. Known for its lively nightlife. The favorite place for young people. Full of bars, tapas, restaurants and clubs. I live both day and night. It is wonderful to get lost in its streets ….

TORRE DE SERRANOS. The door of the ancient medieval Christian wall of Valencia. Declared national historical and artistic monument in 1931

LA LONJA DE LA SEDA. Declared in 1996 World Heritage Site by Unesco. It was the center of commercial activities in the early 16th century. The Market Hall is an architectural show! The entrance with guide is 4 euros.

MERCADO CENTRAL. Located in front of the Lonja de la Seda. Here are all kinds of food. An excellent stop for eating or for a snack.

THE GARDENS OF TURIA. 9 km of green that cross the heart of the city. From the Parc de Cabecera to the City of Arts and Sciences. Built on the bed of the Turia river. Inside is the Gulliver Park, where a giant representation of Gulliver is a fun attraction for children. Made up of slides and ramps.

CITY OF ARTS AND SCIENCES.

Inside you will find:
HEMISFERIC: a 3D digital cinema.
THE MUSEUM OF SCIENCES, science and technology exhibitions.
THEATER OF THE OPERA, inside, works, concerts and shows.
the UMBRACLE, a huge garden of 17,000 square meters consisting of Mediterranean plants and contemporary sculptures.
AGORA, a building that hosts events of various kinds.

BIO PARC. Open since 2008. 100,000 sqm, located in the park of la Cabecera, along the Turia river. A wonderful park where you will find a piece of Africa.

THE PORT. Called Juan Carlos 1 Marina. It is located next to the beaches. An interesting place to stroll through local restaurants, admiring the huge variety of moored boats.

BEACHES. Les Arenas, attached to the port, is the main beach of the city. Numerous restaurants overlooking this immense beach! By metro, simply get off at the “Les Arenas” stop. From here continuing straight on you will find the other main beach of Valencia: Malvarossa. While leaving a few kilomentro from the city you will find: El Saler, Pinedo Pueblo, the Arbre del Gros, La Garrofera, La Devesa.

In Valencia you can eat …..
