If you are planning your vacation on this wonderful island, in this article you will find all the things to see and useful tips to better organize your trip.

Zante it is part of the Ionian islands, together with Corfu and Kefalonia, a true natural paradise, famous for the reproduction of the loggerhead turtles.

Connected from the airports of Rome, Milan and Bologna. Reachable by ship from the ports of Venice, Ancona, Bari and Brindisi, with connection to Patras. What to see in Zakynthos

The preferable places to stay are in the vicinity of the beaches and in the most famous and lively locations of’ island like: Alykes, Tsilivi, Laganas, Aghios Sostis e Argassi. All have bars, locals, restaurants and souvenir shops, market open until late at night. You will be amazed by the atmosphere you breathe when you arrive in the evening. You will be greeted by a riot of lights and colors, illuminated signs, almost to seem to be in a Thai place. Then suddenly you will see numerous carriages appear, in the main street of passage.

Laganas is the most suitable for young people, distinguished by numerous discos.

The town of Zante it is characterized by streets and arcades with many shops, bars and restaurants. Overlooking the port from where the connections to and from the island arrive.

On the east side you will find one of the most beautiful places in the Mediterranean.

  • The Navagio beach or wreck beach, it is a small strip of white sand with a blue sea, where in the center there are the remains of a boat of cigarette smugglers wrecked there in 1983. To go it is possible from Porto Vromi to reach the beach by boat with 15/20 euro.   • Purple Port, here too facilities with the possibility of sunbeds and umbrellas, bars and restaurants. Remember that it is all cliffs so to swim you will have to dive.

The most beautiful beaches on the east side not to be missed are:

  • Makris Giallos, pebble beach, with particularly green sea.

  • Xygia, a beautiful and very suggestive cove, from the green sea, sulphurous water characterized by small cold currents. Possibility of sunbeds and umbrella at the cost of 8 euro, but you will have to go early to find a place. Another peculiarity is the possibility to place your orders from the beach to the bar / restaurant located at the top , receiving them through a small ingenious handcrafted cableway.

  • Amoudi, beach characterized by shallow water and crystal clear water.
  • Tsilivi, free and private beach characterized by shallow water and crystal clear water.

Going to the south of the island, always on the east side you will find:

  • Banana beach, sandy beach, from the sandy bottom, and clear water. You will have the opportunity to stop in free or private. Some sunbeds and umbrellas only require a free offer.
