Because beyond the well-known cities, beautiful and rich in history, there are so many other enchanting places, that you discover only by living there. For love, I moved for about two months, staying mainly in the city of Padua, which I discovered to be a strategic and central point for visiting Veneto. A city full of life and events, mainly frequented and lived by many young people, but also a city full of tourists attracted by the cultural beauty and the strong Catholic appeal of the place. Not to mention the surroundings of Padua, where you will find, villages, fortresses and stunning views.

Just got here, the impression was strange….just so many country roads…follow e…. nothingness…

But when you drive, and you suddenly find yourself in small towns that catch the eye, then, Infinite and long roads, Do you understand, than in the midst of all that initial nothingness, at the end of those streets , turning into one of those intersections, there will surely be some hidden place to discover…

That's why I thought I'd recommend you what to see in veneto, telling you about places that will make you dream.

Venice and its islands in the lagoon

We all know Venice, and a tour here cannot be missed in these parts!!!

E’ one of the most beautiful cities in Italy, best known in the world and absolutely the most characteristic! Characterized by an archipelago of islets connected by well, think a little, 435 bridges….

Its charm is indisputable, its Byzantine and Gothic houses close to the canals, and the mythical gondolas that cross them, make it all very magical and surreal.

How magical is its carnival, one of the most famous in the world, his wonderful masks, and the flight of the angel from the bell tower of San Marco which marks its beginning every year.

Venice is all beautiful, I advise you to discover it by getting lost in every corner and every glimpse like I did. But obviously not to be missed are the splendid St. Mark's Square Basilica , the Rialto bridge from which to admire the beauty of the largest canal that crosses it: the Large channel.

It's still, the oldest bookshop in Venice: AcquaAlta bookshop.

Both can be reached by boats that depart frequently.

But about Venice that we all know very well, however, I would like to stop on some points and advice that no one had ever explained to me and hardly found in tourist guides….

Useful tips:

  • Venice can be reached by car, bus or train. E’ connected to the mainland by a long pier that reaches the only point where, you can get there by public transport: Piazzale Roma. Here you will find paid parking (4 approximately euro per hour or the possibility of a daily subscription). You will find all the bus stops that with 4/5 euro each way, they will allow you to avoid stress and waste of money. From padua station for example, I have used bus italia that with only ones 4,60 euro each way took me to Venice, in just 40 minutes. The train is also a very convenient solution, as the Venice station, it is located near Piazzale Roma in the center. Always remaining the fastest solution to visit the city.
  • For those who want a low cost trip, you know Venice is expensive. To avoid, to get fooled, do not go to the commercial premises right next to the main attractions. But move away a little. Otherwise, eg, water instead of paying for it 1,00 you will pay for it 4 euro. The same goes for bars and restaurants.
  • A gondola ride costs today 100 euro 1 now and 80 euro half an hour. You can climb up to 6 people. So the price can be divided by the people going up.
  • For a trip to Venice, always carry an umbrella with you.
  • Venice is divided into two parts by the grand canal, so to return to the station and Piazzale Roma, remember to cross the rialto bridge again to go back.
  • google maps will be essential to not get lost, because in some places Venice looks like a real labyrinth….and if you don't know it, it is difficult if not impossible to orient yourself… While to get to Piazza San Marco, you will find on the walls of the streets, the indications with the arrow “for san marco”…
  • The best time to photograph it? And give it 17 on, when the light creates extraordinary effects on the water!
  • Venice has the beaches. Beaches of the Lido of Venice are that of San Nicolò and of the Alberoni at the ends of the lido (where they are present, moreover, the sand dunes), while the bathing establishments they are mainly found in the center of the island, with the presence of the characteristic 'huts'. Huts so to speak, given the large size: these are cabins with a veranda and awning added to the basic structure, whose colors depend on the bathing establishment they represent

Chioggia

My tour started from Villa Barbarigo. The whole territory is full of villas and castles, but in this case we are dealing with a beautiful example of a scenic garden with the entrance called Diana Pavilion.

Diana's portal is not only the main entrance to the estate, but also the starting point of a path of purification that the garden hides. Going through it is like a way to analyze your life, a process that ends in front of the villa, after overcoming temptations, bivi, and indecisions.

It is known throughout the world for the chess game that takes place with people living in the town square, every two years (even years) in the second weekend of September: it is a tradition started in 1923 and is inspired by an event of 145. For this historic event the Vicenza town is also nicknamed ” the city of chess “. You can not go from here to visit this wonderful square. Participating in this event is an unforgettable experience!

Lake Garda

Lake Garda is perhaps the most beautiful lake in my opinion in Italy for the beauty of its landscapes of its localities, its beaches and the services it offers.

I stopped in Sirmione, which with its fortress on the lake is one of the most characteristic places to visit, for its center, its wonderful beach: Jamaica beach, and the baths of Sirmione. A dream place for a relaxing weekend …

But we also find …

Peschiera del Garda, Lazise, Torri del Benaco, Riva del Garda, Limone, Salò and Gordone, Desenzano del Garda, and the island of Garda of course. They are all places to visit! Of a unique beauty …

Do not miss the famous amusement park : Gardaland
